Alligators

  • Alligators are reptiles, meaning they are cold-blooded.
  • An alligator egg becomes male or female depending on the temperature. The alligator is a male if the temperature is warmer, or a female if the temperature is cooler.
  • There are two alligator species, the American alligator and the Chinese alligator. The major difference between the American alligator and the Chinese alligator is the location. American alligators are located in the southeastern U.S.A., while the Chinese alligator is located near Yangtze River.
